The Experience Behind the Books
Background
I bring 15 years of experience in full-cycle bookkeeping, with hands-on responsibility for the day-to-day details as well as the larger financial picture. My experience includes transaction review, account reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, general ledger maintenance, month-end close, financial reporting, and preparing records for year-end review.
I also have four years of payroll experience, managing payroll for both salaried and hourly employees. That work has included reviewing approved hours and pay information, processing payroll, maintaining deductions, reconciling payroll activity, and helping ensure employees are paid accurately and on schedule.
I am currently serving on my own neighborhood HOA Board, and have for almost five years, including three years as the current President. That hands-on experience has given me a practical understanding of the financial, administrative, and day-to-day challenges volunteer Boards face, especially when a small number of people are responsible for keeping the association organized and running smoothly.
My Approach
I am highly organized, independent, and comfortable taking ownership of the work entrusted to me. I believe bookkeeping should be accurate, current, and useful, without creating more work for the business owner.
I work efficiently and make careful use of my time, with attention to both detail and the overall health of the books. I look for inconsistencies, unresolved balances, missing information, and anything else that may need attention before it grows into a larger problem.
Clear communication is also important to me. Clients should know what is needed, what has been completed, and when something requires their review or approval. My goal is to provide dependable bookkeeping support that gives business owners a clearer understanding of where their business stands and more time to focus on running it.
